Pregnancy and birthing your child is going to leave a very special moment in your life.
InspireMum™ Childbirth classes will prepare you and your partner physically and emotionally for that special moment. Our Childbirth Educator will guide you through the process on what to expect during pregnancy, labour and beyond. These classes are conducted in private groups to facilitate better communications between couples and educator.
There will be two sections that are covered leading you to your birth:
Topic 1: Labour and Birth
You will learn about stages of labour, ways to cope with labour, and the birth process. There will also be discussions on how to manage labour pain, the different labour positions you can adopt, and what's a birth plan. Other information includes partner's role in labour, induction, episotomy, baby distress, and almost any questions you may have about labour. Even if you are planning a caesarean birth, there will be information on what to expect. You and your partner will also get to try out the different positions you learnt, breathing techniques, and traditional pain relief methods.
Topic 2: Baby and You
What's after labour and birth? We have to care about parents' well-being and their new role as parents as they have to adjusted to a new family member. This session will include mother's health, nutrition (eating right) and how to care for baby. Learn about breastfeeding, looking after your baby (holding, diaper change, bathing etc), vaccinations and understanding common medical problems (jaundice, rashes etc).
Note: Time for each session depends on the number of participants and duration of question & answer session. This course includes a half hour lunch break.
